Event Lead for Caltex and Jack & Co: Engaging Fans at Newcastle Knights Fan Day

We were engaged as the event lead representing Caltex and Jack & Co at the Newcastle Knights Fan Day. Our goal was to deliver a high-energy brand activation that would engage fans and maximize our on-the-ground impact.

Planning and Coordination

In the lead-up to the event, we managed crucial planning and coordination. This included developing the event run sheet, coordinating staffing, and organizing event assets. Our aim was to ensure a smooth and professional delivery on the day. We acted as the central point of contact, executing the activation with maximum brand visibility.

On-Site Execution

On the day of the event, we led the on-site team responsible for several key tasks. We installed the marquee, set up the activation space, and managed prizes while running fan engagement activities. The activation was designed to be fun, fast-paced, and highly interactive. This approach created a strong connection with Knights supporters of all ages.

The Prize Wheel: A Highlight of the Day

The highlight of our activation was the prize wheel. This simple gamified concept proved to be an enormous success. At times, it drew lines of more than 30 meters as fans eagerly waited for their chance to spin. Even after all major prizes had been exhausted, fans were still eager to participate—many simply wanting to “spin to win.” This reinforced just how powerful gamification can be as a drawcard at live events.

Branded Merchandise: A Fan Favorite

Branded merchandise was extremely popular and almost entirely distributed throughout the day. Items included mini footballs, which tied perfectly into the Knights season launch. Fans had the added opportunity to have their merchandise signed by players, extending the value of the activation beyond the event itself.

Major Prizes and Engagement

Major prizes, including Newcastle Knights jerseys and shop vouchers, were also a strong attraction. These prizes helped drive early engagement and sustained foot traffic throughout the activation zone. Fans were excited to participate, which kept the energy high and the atmosphere vibrant.

Cost-Effective Event Management

For corporate brands, outsourcing event management can often be more cost-effective than sending head office staff to manage local activations. By engaging an experienced local event lead, brands benefit from professional delivery, strong crowd engagement, and seamless execution—without the additional travel and staffing costs.

The Impact of Community Engagement

Engaging with local communities is vital for brands. Events like the Newcastle Knights Fan Day provide a platform to connect directly with fans. This interaction fosters loyalty and strengthens brand recognition. By being present at such events, brands can showcase their commitment to the community.

Building Lasting Relationships

The relationships formed during events can lead to long-term benefits. Fans who feel valued are more likely to support the brand in the future. Our approach focuses on creating memorable experiences that resonate with attendees. This strategy not only enhances brand visibility but also builds trust and loyalty.

Conclusion: Connecting with Local Communities

We’re proud to support organizations big and small by stepping in to plan, manage, and deliver pop-up events and brand activations. Our goal is to connect with local communities and deliver real results. Engaging fans at events like the Newcastle Knights Fan Day is just one way we achieve this.

In summary, our experience at the Newcastle Knights Fan Day showcased the effectiveness of strategic event management and engaging brand activations. We look forward to more opportunities to create memorable experiences for fans and brands alike.

By focusing on community engagement and effective event strategies, we can ensure that every activation leaves a lasting impression. The Newcastle Knights Fan Day was a testament to the power of connecting with fans and creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates the spirit of the game.
